In order to carry forward the Ao Jiu filial piety and practice the Lei Feng spirit, before the arrival of the "Ao Jiu Festival", Hexieyuan · Fujian Cuisine Restaurant, Gulou District Youth Entrepreneurs Chamber of Commerce, and Qixunkou Community New Era Civilization Practice Station held the theme activity of "3.5 Learning from Lei Feng" & "Civilization Practice, I'm an Actor" in Xuantan Park on March 5. With the theme of "A bowl of porridge warms a city," this activity aims to spread the traditional virtue of "respecting and caring for the elderly" and promote the volunteer service spirit of "dedication, fraternity, mutual assistance and progress."

At the activity, volunteers dressed in red vests served bowls of warm porridge to the elderly passing by, bringing them sincere wishes and greetings at this festival. At the same time, volunteers also visited some elderly people with mobility difficulties, to express the community's care for its residents. During the activity, the organizers simultaneously carried out the publicity of garbage sorting to make the concept of green life deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, and provided volunteer medical consultation services to the citizens on site.

Zhang Yun, founder and chairman of Hexieyuan, said, “Since 2018, we have taken ‘Ao Jiu Festival’ as an opportunity to advocate a new fashion of civilization and promote the traditional Chinese virtues of filial piety, respect for the elderly and care for the young.” In the future, Hexieyuan · Fujian Cuisine Restaurant will hold more public welfare activities to carry forward Fujian cuisine culture and promote Chinese virtues.
