Hexieyuan Holds the Public Welfare Activity "I Cook a Dish for My Mother" for Fujian Cuisine Cultural Inheritance
On the morning of the 23rd, the 9th Public Welfare Activity "I Cook aDish for My Mother" was held by Hexieyuan Fujian Cuisine Restaurant in Hexieyuan, under the guidance of Fuzhou Municipal Intangible Heritage Protection Center. The chefs of Hexieyuan taught the children how to cook traditional Fujian dishes such as Lychee Sweet and Sour Pork and Stir-fried Pork Liver, so that the children could experience the extensive and profound Fujian cuisine culture in practice.
At the activity, Lin Liang, chief supervisor of Hexieyuan, inheritor of Fujian Fotiaoqiang and Fujian cuisine master, introduced the Fujian cuisine culturefirst.Next, more than 20 students from primary and junior middle schools in Fuzhou became "little chefs."Following the steps taught by Fujian cuisine masters, some of them cut and cleaned the meat, some coated it with starch and kneaded it, and some poured oil into the wok and stir-fried it. Through the children's joint efforts, a plate of steaming lychee sweet and sour pork was ready to be served."I will cook this Fujian dish at home for my mother to thank her for her efforts," Zhang Xinyao said.
Since its establishment 16 years ago, Hexieyuan has won many honorary titles such as Fuzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance Demonstration Base and China's Top Ten Restaurants of Fotiaoqiang Cooking.Chairman Zhai Yu of Fujian Xinshengyu InvestmentCo., Ltd., one of the new generation of enterprises to promote Fujian cuisine culture,introduced various Fujian dishes to children at the activity.
