Fujian Cuisine Masters Explaining and Showing Cooking Skills at the Fuzhou Home Service Training Session
With the strong support of Fuzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Fuzhou Home Service Association recently employed Chinese cooking master Chen Weijie and master chefs of Fujian cuisine to hold a training session "Chinese Cooking - A Family Banquet of Fujian Cuisine" for an integrated training of "theory + practical training + skills assessment" for domestic service staff. At the session, students could learn how to cook 24 traditional Fujian dishes, including noodles, cold dishes, hot dishes and soups, such as Lychee Glazed Meatballs, Stir-fried Liver, Fried Fish with Sweet and Sour Sauce, and Sauteed Sliced Fish in Rice Wine Sauce.

Fujian cuisine is one of the eight major cuisines in China. Classic Fujian dishes such as Lychee Glazed Meatballs and Eel in Rice Wine Sauce are common ones popular among Fuzhou people. One of the criteria for Fuzhou families to choose domestic service staff is whether they can cook a table of Fujian dishes well.
During the training process, the master chef of Fujian cuisine gave a detailed demonstration and explanation of each Fujian dish and each cooking step, such as washing, cutting, preparing, stir-frying, stewing and quick-boiling, to ensure that the students could understand and know how to perform these steps. After the skills demonstration, the domestic service staff participating in the training did practical exercises, and the teacher tasted and commented on every dish cooked by them. After the 11-day training and practical exercise, the domestic service staff have been professionally trained in their skills of food preparation, cutting skills, seasoning, heat control, food presentation, etc., and enhanced the core competitiveness of their service.
According to Lin Guihui, president of Fuzhou Home Service Association, the training session "Chinese Cooking - A Family Banquet of Fujian Cuisine" is a local and professional training for domestic service staff to improve their ability to cook dishes. Currently, the training has been held twice, and a total of 65 domestic service staff have participated in it and been certified. Those who are interested in the training can register with the association for later training.
As far as I know, this marks the fourth consecutive year that the "Training of Home Service Credit System Construction in Fuzhou" has been held. In order to further implement the spirit of Fuzhou City to standardize and support the development of the home service industry, and strengthen the construction of the home service credit system in Fuzhou, Fuzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce continues to increase its training efforts. Up to now, a total of 124 training sessions of the home service industry have been carried out, and 48,263 domestic service staff have been listed on the platform of the Ministry of Commerce. In the future, Fuzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce will take multiple measures to further promote the home service credit system construction, standardize and support the development of the home service industry in Fuzhou.
