The Cross-Strait Brand Integration Industry Matchmaking Conference Is Held in Fuzhou, Promoting the Establishment of Fuzhou Snack Brands in Taiwan
How can Fuzhou expand its local snack chain brands to Taiwan? On February 18, the Cross-Strait Brand Integration Industry Matchmaking Conference was held at the Cross-Strait Workers’ Lounge in Fuzhou. Jointly organized by the Cross-Strait (Fuzhou)Staff Innovation and Entrepreneurship Creation Centerand the Taiwan Youth Chamber of Commerce, the event welcomed representatives from well-known Fuzhou snack brands such as Shanggan Snacks, Mr. Yu’s Fish Balls from Lianjiang, and Eo Health.
The conference focused on topics such as brand chain expansion and entrepreneurial training support, exploring feasible pathways for Fuzhou snack brands to enter the Taiwanese market and expand their global presence by leveraging Taiwan-based channels.Luo Mingyu, President of the Taiwan Youth Chamber of Commerce, shared successful cases of global operations by Taiwanese food and beverage brands.Several cooperation intentions were reached during the event, including plans to open branches in Taiwan for brands such as Shanggan Snacks and Lianjiang Fish Balls, joint development of light meal products that blend cross-Strait characteristics, and providing specialized training and support for Taiwanese investors and entrepreneurs seeking to start businesses or find employment in Fuzhou. These initiatives aimto promote resource sharing and complement the strengths of both sides.
Lin Yu, founder of Lianjiang Mr. Yu’s Fish Balls, said, “The platform created by the labor union is indeed very helpful. As a small business, we hope to use it to introduce more Taiwanese people to Fuzhou’s culinary delights and bring our intangible cultural heritage to the other side of the Strait.” Zheng Bingchun, the head of Shanggan Snacks, also shared that they have already established a solid product standardization and support system, and their products have been sold overseas. They hope to seize this opportunity to expand into the Taiwanese market.
Luo Mingyu mentioned that Fuzhou and Taiwan are geographically close, share cultural ties, and have complementary industries, especially with great cooperation potential in areas like food processing and catering services.Going forward, the Taiwan Youth Chamber of Commerce will partner with the Fuzhou Federation of Trade Unions to organize exchange visits for workers from both sides of the Strait. They plan to invite Fuzhou snack brand founders to Taiwan for research and bring Taiwanese workers interested in starting businesses to Fuzhou for training and practical experience. This will allow more Taiwanese people to enjoy authentic “Fuzhou flavors” as soon as possible.
The reporter also learned that to implement the first batch of pilot policies for the Fuzhou-Matsu “One-City Living Circle,” the Fuzhou Federation of Trade Unions will work with theCross-Strait Staff Innovation and Entrepreneurship Creation Center to establishthe “Fuzhou-Matsu Integration IndustrialPark Pilot Area Urban Center Service Park.” Itwill offer one-stop services for Cross-Strait business and operations centers, helping more start-up teams ofsmall yet smartFuzhou-Matsu livelihood projects grow and establish themselves on both sides of the Strait. By creating “A Shared MemoryofFood,” the initiative aims to enhance cultural identity and emotional connections between the two sides of the Strait, while also helping Mainland brand chain stores expand into Taiwan.
