Second Season of Bilingual Short Video Series Sharing “Fu” with the World Launches, Featuring “Fuzhou Flavors”
Starting fromFebruary 6, the second season of the Sharing “Fu” with the Worldshort video series, themed“Flavors,” officially launched on domestic and international platforms. Produced by the Western Returned Scholars Associationin Fuzhou and the Gulou District Cultural Center, and created by the RongchengOverseas Returnee Talent Station, the series, presented in both Chinese and English, introduces Fuzhou’s unique cuisine to the world.

According to the information, the first season of theshort video seriesSharing “Fu” with the World, produced by the Western Returned Scholars Association in Fuzhou, premiered last year. It includes 7 episodes, each highlighting a representative intangible cultural heritage (ICH) item from Fuzhou. In every episode, an ICH inheritor and a returned overseas student serve as “ICH ambassadors.” The 7 episodes of the first season introduce Fuzhou’s Jasmine tea scenting, Shoushan stone carving, lacquer art, cork painting, She ethnic clothing, goldfish cultivation, and lacquered leather crafting techniques.
The second season of the short video series Sharing “Fu” with the World, themed“Flavors,” debuted on February 6 after over six months of planning and production. This season also consists of 7 episodes, each featuring a “Fuzhou cuisineinheritor” who crafts traditional Fuzhou dishes and a returned overseas student as the “Fuzhou cuisineambassador.” With bilingual Chinese and English subtitles, the episodes introduce a range of Fuzhou’s signaturedelicacies to a global audience, including pork wontons, ceremonial cakes,meat floss, taro puree, green &red wine, and fish balls.
The reporter noticed that in the second season of the video series, “Li Bing” was translated as “Ceremonial Cake,” “Rou Song” as “Meat Floss,” “Yu Ni” as “Taro Puree,” “Yu Wan” as “Fish Ball,” and “Qing Hong Jiu”as “Green & Red Rice Wine.”
In the second season, seven returned overseas students from Fuzhou followedseven “Fuzhou cuisineinheritors” to experience the process of making Fuzhou’s signature dishes. They shared their emotional ties to the food from their hometown and offered their insights.Chen Wenqin is the “Fuzhou Flavor Ambassador” in the first episode. He studied in the UK and is currently working in planning, design, and investment.He shared, “Food often carries memories. No matter where you are, food can always serve as an emotional bond, reminding you of the flavors of home.”
Starting from February 6, Episodes 1 to 7 of “Flavors,”the second season of the Sharing “Fu” with the Worldwill be gradually launched on various platforms including the WeChat Official Accountof the Western Returned Scholars Association in Fuzhou, with one episode being released each day.
In recent years, the Western Returned Scholars Association in Fuzhou has actively served as a dynamic force in grassroots diplomacy.
