Fuzhou Hosts the Mee Sua Cultural Promotion Event, Creating a Carnival for Both Local and International Guests

On October 11, the Fourth Chongyang Festival Celebration for the Elderly and Fuzhou’s First Mee Sua Cultural Festival was held in Puqian Village, Jingxi Town, Minhou County. Fujian cuisine masters, illustrators, livestream influencers, and international guests gathered to extend festive wishes to the longevousin the village.

This event brought together the Filial Long-Table Banquet, Cultural and Creative Market, Jingxi Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition, and local handcraft experiences like making mee sua noodles and rice cakes, creating a lively carnival atmosphere. As the city’s first-ever mee sua culture event, the delicious mee sua noodleswerean undisputed highlight.Chinese culinary master Gai Zi created seven mee sua dishes for Puqian, including the mee sua noodles with green & red wine-braised pork trotter.A renowned illustrator, in collaboration with Yinghua Academy, created a series of hand-drawn illustrations centered on the “20 Techniques of Intangible Cultural Heritage Mee Sua” for Puqian Village, further enhancing the mee sua brand.

Many international students attended the mee sua culture promotion event to experience the local customs of Puqian and savor the Puqian mee suanoodles with the elderly villagers. The delicious noodlesearned enthusiastic thumbs-up from the students.

At the event, live streamers interacted enthusiastically with viewers, passionately promoting Puqian mee sua noodles. Foreign visitors eagerly tried their hand at making mee sua noodles and rice cakes, immersing themselves in the rurallife of Song Dynasty villagers over 800 years ago, and discovering the beauty of rural China.
