Lianjiang’s New Project: Fuzhou and Matsu Sharing Culinary Delights
Fuzhou and Matsu share the same culinary roots and traditions. Currently, Lianjiang is organizing the “Lianma Family Feast,” while Matsu is hosting the “Gastronomy of Matsu” event, allowing the people of both regions to enjoy the same delicacies.
Fujian Yida Foods Co., Ltd., one of the 15 premium ingredient suppliers for the “Lianma Family Feast,” is a leading provincial agricultural industrialization enterprise that integrates seafood farming, advanced processing, sales, and trade. Recently, the reporter visited the site of the company’s Phase II project. “The Phase II project includes a dormitory building and an aquatic product processing workshop, both of which have already been topped off. The aquatic product processing workshop is expected to be completed by June,” said Chen Ting, the project manager for Phase II.
It is reported that the Phase II project, with a construction area of 12,000 square meters, has a total planned investment of over 40 million yuan. The project will introduce advanced equipment, including an intelligent kelp processing production line and an AI foreign object detection system, to produce algae-based pre-made dishes, such as ready-to-eat kelp, ready-to-eat vegetables, and flavored snack foods. The project is scheduled to start production in August this year, with an estimated annual processing capacity of 8,000 tons of seaweed products and an annual output value of over 80 million yuan.
Lianjiang is advancing its project construction, while Matsu is launching a food event. According to the Matsu Daily News, Le Palais, a restaurant under the Palais de Chine Hotel in Taipei, will hold the “Gastronomy of Matsu” event, offering the public a chance to enjoy authentic Matsu delicacies. Seven renowned restaurants from the Matsu region will be invited to participate in the event, each presenting their signature dishes.
