Experiencethe “Cross-Strait Daily Life” at Sanfang Qixiang

It was learned on February 9 that the “Cross-Strait Daily Life” platform will partner with Fuzhou and Taiwanese food vendors to host a range of food exchange activities across both sides of the Taiwan Strait, establishing a new platform for cultural exchange between the two sides.

“Cross-Strait Daily Life” is a platform established by the Cross-Strait Peaceful Reunification Promotion Association at the end of last year. It focuses on creating food streets and organizing cultural exchange activities centered around food, aiming to promote mutual understanding and emotional connection between the people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, allowing them to experience the charm of Chinese culture and strengthen cultural identity.

On the 9th, at the “Cross-Strait Daily Life” market held at Guanglu Yintai in Sanfang Qixiang, 28 food stalls were arranged in a “T” shape, offering a variety of Fujian and Taiwanese delicacies, including dorayaki, oyster omelettes, Shacha squid, Fuzhou fish balls, jasmine tea, and Quanzhou sipunculid worm jelly. These delicious offerings attracted a large number of visitors. The market will run until the 15th of the first lunar month.

“Each time we organize an event, we focus on seamlessly blending Taiwanese elements with local culture. We set up dedicated exhibition areas for both Taiwanese and regional specialties, ensuring that each represents 20% of the offerings. Our goal is to create a distinctive street marketthat showcases the unique flavors and culture of both sides of the Taiwan Strait,” said Ye Xudong, Director of the Cross-Strait Snack Industry Integration and Development Committee of the Cross-Strait Peaceful Reunification Promotion Association.Under the guidance of the Fuzhou Cross-Strait Peaceful Reunification Promotion Association, the Cross-Strait Snack Workers Alliance has been established, bringing together outstanding vendors from both sides of the Taiwan Strait. The alliance is dedicated to the preservation and innovation of cross-strait culinary culture, as well as the high-quality development of the snack industry. (Fuzhou Daily Reporter: Zhang Tieguo)
